The Internet of Vehicles is a new industrial form with deep integration of automobile, electronics, ICT, transportation and other industries. The Internet of Vehicles (V2X) refers to a new generation of information communication technology that connects vehicles with everything. It relies on dedicated/cellular communication network interconnection to realize the interconnection and information sharing of workshops (V2V), vehicles and people (V2P), vehicles and networks (V2N), vehicles and infrastructure (V2I), so as to achieve the goal of supporting automatic driving, enriching vehicle entertainment, ensuring traffic safety, and expanding intelligent services. V2X organically links such elements as “people, vehicles, roads and clouds”, which can not only support the vehicle to perceive more information, but also promote the innovation and application of automatic driving technology; It will also help to build an intelligent transportation system and promote the development of new models and new business forms of automobile and transportation services.

The C in C-V2X refers to cellular, which is a vehicle wireless communication technology based on the evolution of 3G/4G/5G and other cellular network communication technologies. With the help of all-round connection and efficient information interaction between people, vehicles, roads and cloud platforms. As a key enabling technology, C-V2X wireless communication technology is conducive to building an industrial ecosystem of “people vehicle road cloud” collaboration.

The existing C-V2X technical standard in China has been basically completed and has a complete industrial chain, and the 5G-V2X technology has been gradually implemented. The unique features of 5G, such as low delay and high reliability, will realize the combination of wireless communication and GPS, so as to realize the real intelligent automobile networking.

Communication modules are widely used in vehicle products. The Internet of Vehicles products mainly include two categories: the front mounted T-BOX and the rear mounted OBD. The front mounted on-board system belongs to the original factory configuration of the car, while the rear mounted on-board system is mainly purchased by car dealers or consumers themselves. Cellular communication module plays a very important role in the whole process of vehicle electronic application, and it is the link connecting the sensing end of equipment and the information service center. Due to the need to collect a large number of running vehicle data, communication modules are widely used in vehicle products. T-BOX, OBD, intelligent rear-view mirror, tachograph, in car WiFi hotspot, etc. all need built-in wireless communication module to collect and transmit data information.

The wireless communication module is a functional module that integrates the baseband chip, RF chip, power management chip, positioning chip, PN type device, resistance capacitance inductance component and other materials on the PCB to achieve the functions of radio wave transceiver, channel noise filtering and mutual conversion between analog signals and digital signals. The wireless communication module needs to redesign and integrate different chips and devices, involving a variety of communication protocols/systems, volumes, power consumption and special processes. The wireless communication module includes antenna interface, main function module and function interface. The main function module is the core of the module, including baseband module, RF, power management and storage module.

The automobile intelligent networking is accelerating, and the penetration rate of the Internet of Vehicles is rising. According to IDC data, the global shipment of ICVs will be about 44.4 million in 2020, 76.2 million in 2024, and 14.5% CAGR in 2020-2024. In addition, IDC also predicted that by 2024, more than 71% of new cars shipped worldwide will be equipped with intelligent networking systems, the market will become mature, and the growth will slow down later.

The global Internet of Vehicles market is expected to exceed one trillion yuan. According to the data of Yiou Think Tank, the size of the global Internet of Vehicles market has increased from 245.42 billion yuan in 2015 to 643.44 billion yuan in 2020. It is estimated that it will exceed 1.5 trillion yuan in 2025, and the CAGR will exceed 15% in 2020-2025.
